Kob - The Cobra
Poisonous and fast, this snake is considered dangerous and difficult to bond with, although if successful, it proves to be a valuable ally. The kob inhabit many warm regions, and vary from red, yellow, black, and orange in color. This creature sheds skin five times a year and loves to climb trees. Many villagers and nobles use them as protectors, not only because they are intimidating when they display their hood before an attack, but because of their deadly poison. Bards also value them because the kob adore music, and are astounding dancers.
The kob are not affectionate, but they care about their companion. Above all things, they are proud and conduct themselves regally as if they were royalty. The reason behind this is unknown, though an elven sage believes these snakes were the preferred companion of dragonian royalty, and they have not forgotten it. Nomads of the Urucan Wastelands befriend the kob and use them as guardians during the night, a task they are well suited for as they are vigilant and can deter most intruders from a camp. Should this not work, they deliver a deadly bite that few creatures can withstand.
